I'm here today to have an honest conversation about Louise bridge and what the city can realistically accomplish.

Would I like a brand new bridge?

I live in the neighbourhood. Absolutely!

But at $149 million price tag for a four-lane bridge or $179 million for a six-lane bridge, the city just simply doesn't have the money.

What they have done is, they have earmarked $38 out of the $40 million specifically for the rehabilitation.

This is money that we have so I am in support of rehabilitating this bridge.

I would like some guarantees on the warranty.

But also does that mean we stop trying to get a new bridge after the refurbishment? Absolutely not.

I think we continue the work. This gives us 30 years to plan and 30 years to save money.

The Louise bridge is a vital artery of this city, it is a vital link for the people of this neighbourhood.
